Renewal Procedure

Certificates are valid for a two year period starting in the month certification is approved. Regardless of the date your certificate is issued, the expiry date will always be on the 15th of that same month.

As per the Waterworks and Sewage Works Regulations, an on-going education requirement was added to the renewal process. This regulation states that an Operator applying for renewal of a certificate must earn 1.0 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) prior to its approval.
Before your certificate expiry date you will receive a renewal notice and a renewal application. You must complete the renewal application and submit copies of your workshop certificates to verify you earned the necessary 1.0 CEU. Accompanying the application should be the renewal fee of $150.00 payable by cheque to the OCB or as a credit card payment; Credit Card Authorization Form.
Your renewal application must be received at the office by the meeting submission deadline to ensure it will be reviewed at the meeting.
If you would like to see a list of courses that have been approved to use for renewal, please see the document, List of Accepted CEUs. This is a list of previously approved courses.  If you would like to submit CEUs for a course not listed here, you can forward a Request for CEU Rating to the Operator Certification Board.
If you have additional questions with regard to renewing a certificate, refer to the FAQ section or contact the office.
